JCRC CONDEMNS RACIST SHOOTING IN BUFFALO

The Greensboro Jewish community is shocked and horrified by the racist shooting that took place in Buffalo, NY this past week.

We stand in solidarity with the Black community in Buffalo, and across that nation, mourning the loss of innocent life. The Jewish community knows all too well the damage that white supremacist, racist and antisemitic ideologies can foster. These ideas have no place in an open, democratic society, such as ours.

As Deitrich Bonhoeffer said in response to the Holocaust, “Silence in the face of evil is evil itself.” Observers of injustice must not remain silent. We must join together and fight against bigotry, injustice, and discrimination.
