JFS presents HomeFit, an AARP program on making sure your home is user friendly and safe for all ages.
Tuesday, March 6, 11:30 a.m. at JFS
The program will help you assess your current home and identify what may need to be changed in in order to live there safely and independently. A facilitator will lead us through this process and explain a variety of adaptations and modifications. You will also receive a personal copy of the AARP HomeFit Guide. JFS Employment Program: Successful Negotiation Strategies for Women.
Wednesday, March 7, at 7:00 p.m. at JFS
Learn techniques and approaches that will help you hold your own in the workplaces and in everyday life. Sindy Martin of Smartin Center for Professional Development will guide participants through an interactive program to help you achieve your goals. Spouse Caregiver Support Group
Next meetings are Wednesday, March 7 and April 4 at 4:30 p.m.
If you are caring for a spouse, join us the first Wednesday of each month from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.at JFS to discuss some of the challenges and joys of being a caregiver. JFS Chai Notes presents the Yiddish Film American Matchmaker
Monday, March 19 at 2:30 p.m. at Abbotswood (third floor).

JFS Children and Family Programs is offering a program for parents and/or grandparents and children (ages 5 to 100) to work together and learn flower box arranging and help create the centerpieces for the Passover Senior Luncheon. Program is Sunday, March 18 from 1 - 2:15 p.m. Learn a new skill and do a mitzvah at the same time! David Frazier will instruct participants through the process. Passover Gift Bag Assembly and Delivery—parents and children are invited to come assemble and deliver gift bags for older adults to wish them a happy Passover on Sunday, March 25 at JFS from 3:00pm to 4:30pm. Scholarship Information
 
The Rosalyn Saltz and Norman Seymour Pliner Endowment Fund will offer one scholarship in the amount of $2,500 for the academic year 2018-2019. Eligible candidates are young adults who are residents of either North or South Carolina and are pursuing full-time post-secondary education in an accredited program. The selected recipient must demonstrate a commitment to advancing women in leadership roles as well as in a field of their choice and be involved in Jewish life. Applications and guidelines are available online. JFS Jewish Overnight Summer Camp Scholarships are available to families who find the cost of camp to be challenging. Applications are available online or you can contact Betsy Gamburg (336) 852-4829 x225 to get an application. Applications are due by Feb. 28 and are held in strict confidence.
 
 
JELF—the Jewish Educational Loan Fund—offers last dollar interest-free loans to Jewish students attending college or other post-secondary educational institutions. and open March 1 and close April 30.
