Foundation - Assistant Endowment Director

The Assistant Endowment Director of the Jewish Foundation of Greensboro facilitates the endowment and planned giving program for the Jewish community of Greensboro, Jewish Federations, agencies, and institutions. This position will report to and work closely with the Endowment Director and other members of the team and board to engage donors in supporting our growth. Other duties may need to be assigned to meet organizational needs.

The Assistant Endowment Director of the Jewish Foundation of Greensboro must be people-oriented, able to work with confidential topics, demonstrate integrity, and capable of articulating the mission of the endowment program to the community. The Assistant Endowment Director is required to present a strong and recognizable commitment to the enrichment of the Jewish community, with knowledge of Jewish culture and customs.

Essential Duties:

  • Implement individual donor cultivation and solicit prospective donors. Develop plans and provide stewardship of current donors and organizations. Develop a thorough knowledge of beneficiary agencies, synagogues, and other community organizations.
     
  • Manage the partnership with Foundation Affiliate organizations. Collaborate and implement development strategies to acquire new organizations and relationships, including marketing plans for the acquisition of life and testamentary gifts to the Affiliate organizations.
     
  • Solicit donors for Create a Jewish Legacy, a program creating legacy gifts which can benefit one or more organizations, such as Federation, through a current or future gift in their will or estate. Collaborate, plan, organize, administer, and staff Foundation program initiatives including the Strategic Philanthropy Initiative, and the Foundation Women’s Giving Circle.
     
  • Organize, administer, and staff professional and lay committees for the purpose of soliciting, investing, accepting, and distributing funds of the Foundation and Affiliates. Plan, organize and execute development related tasks, special projects, and events. Ability to manage multiple projects. Participate in Foundation and Federation Board meetings and events.
     
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required. Ability to compose written communications and edit promotional articles including quarterly newsletters and Federation quarterly magazine.

Qualifications:

A graduate degree (JD/MBA) or an equivalent educational background, or minimum five years experience in finance, business, planned giving or development. Experience in community organization, grant-making, fundraising, and Jewish community involvement.

Compensation:

Competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Other aspects of the position are those general to Federation employees as covered in the Greensboro Jewish Federation Employee Handbook.
